GRANDMA HOLLISTER DEAD

Monday word came to friends at Hull that Grandma Hollister had died at the home of her daughter in Luverne and that the interment would take place at Hull where rests the body of her husband, Father Holister[sic], who preceded her in death Jan. 30, 1900. Wednesday afternoon at four o'clock Hull friends met the funeral party and they proceeded at once to Hope cemetery where the interment took place.

Sarah A. Hollister was born in Oneida county, New York in 1818. At an early age she with her parents moved to Wisconsin, settling near Milwaukee. June 1st, 1840, she was married to Samuel Hollister, a distant relative of hers, she thus retaining her maiden name. In 1854 they removed to Juneau county, Wis., and in 1876 to Iowa. In 1889 Father Hollister and wife moved to Hull where the deceased resided until the death of her husband as before stated. Six children survive their aged mother, Mrs. Trowbridge of Magnolia, Mrs. Putney of Luverne, Cyrus of Jasper, Minn., Storrs of Manchester, S.D., Charles of Waubay, S.D., and Mrs. Moulton. With the exception of Mrs. Moulton all followed their mother's remains to their last resting place.

The people of this vicinity will hold in loving remembrance the name of Grandma Hollister. She had been a devoted follower of the Master all her life and her departure was but a longed for transition to a better and more restful place. Her spirit goes to join the spirit of her husband.
