Roger Dean Lubbers, 52, passed away December 14 at the Bonner General Hospital in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 17 at 1:30 p.m. in the First Lutheran Church in Sandpoint with Rev. Dennis Hanson officiating. Interment followed at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Lubbers was born May 11, 1930 at Sioux Center. He was a barber in Iowa and also served with the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1954. He moved to the Sandpoint area in 1955 and married Clara Ann Galer on June 25, 1961 at Cour d'Alene, Idaho. He barbered in Sandpoint until 1970 when he went to work for Evergreen Ford, working there until 1980. He had also worked for Connie's Best Western, retiring due to health this fall.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church at Sandpoint; Past President of the Sandpoint Lions Club; member of B.P.O.E. #1376 and the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Clara Ann, at home on Ponder Point; two sons, Ron Lubbers and Rick Lubbers, both of Pocatello, Idaho; one daughter, Leigh Lubbers, of Ponder Point; his parents, Alfred and Hilda Lubbers of Sioux Center; two brothers, Alroy Lubbers of Minnesota and Ken Lubbers of Iowa; and one sister, Marlene Orr, of Iowa.
