Laura Lutjens, 35, of Rock Valley, died Saturday, December 27, 1986, in a hospital in Rock Valley after a long illness.

Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, in Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Rock Valley. Rev. Ronald W. Nelson officiated. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery under direction of Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.

Mrs. Lutjens, the former Laura Vogelzang, was born September 10, 1951, in Canton, SD. She graduated from Rock Valley High School in 1969. She married Greg Lutjens April 4, 1970, in Rock Valley. The couple lived at Hull until 1974 when they moved to North Dakota. They returned to Hull in 1976 and operated Greg's Bar and Grill until 1980. They then moved to Rock Valley.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Glenn, and two daughters, Rhiannon and Renee, all at home; her parents, Sam and Mina Vogelzang of Rock Valley; six brothers, Brian and Terry, both of Sioux Falls, SD, Duane with the armed services, Gary of Inwood, Kevin of Carmel and four sisters, Mrs. Michael (Linda) McManaman of Hawarden, Mrs. Bill (Karen) Thorne of Portland, OR, Mrs. Wes (Doris) Kooiker of Hull and Jan Vogelzang of Rock Valley.
