Obituary: Rock Valley, IA - Lloyd Gayer, 87, died Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Fellowship Village, Inwood, IA. Private burial of cremains will be at a later date. Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley, IA is assisting the family.

Lloyd Gayer was born June 8, 1922 to Gottlieb and Anna (Hamann) Gayer south of Rock Valley, IA. He was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church, rural Sioux Center, IA. Lloyd farmed with his brother Bernie on the Gayer Century Farm south of Rock Valley.He was a past member of the Sioux County Fair Board and served on the Sioux County Soil and Water Conservation Board. Lloyd always enjoyed attending his nieces’ and nephews’ activities.
Lloyd is survived by his sisters: Marian Kooiman of Seminole, FL, Berdena Buma of Rock Valley, IA and Rose (Mel) Kramer of Waverly, IA; sister-in-law, Delores Gayer of Rock Valley, IA; brother-in-law, Walt Warntjes of Rock Valley, IA; 17 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother; sisters: Bernice Gayer and Joyce Warntjes; brother, Bernard "Bernie" Gayer; brothers-in-law: Herman "Doc" Kooiman and Harry Buma.
