Obituary: Rock Valley, IA: Jennie Dykstra, 88, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Whispering Heights, Rock Valley. Funeral Service will be 1:30 pm Saturday at First Christian Reformed Church, Rock Valley. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery. There will be no family visitation. Porter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Jennie was born May 3, 1921 at Rock Valley, Iowa, daughter of William and Ida (Leistra) Evers. She married Herman Dykstra on April 23, 1941 at Perkins, Iowa. Together they lived at Hull before moving to Rock Valley where Herman operated Dykstra Produce and later was a livestock dealer. Jennie was an active member of First Christian Reformed Church and it’s circles. Herman died August 30, 1982. Jennie moved to Whispering Heights on September 8, 2009.

Surviving relatives include daughter, Carol (Kenneth) Danneberg of Denver, CO; son, Herman (Therisa) Dykstra of Maple Hill, KS; grandchildren, Christopher Danneberg, Matthew (Christina) Dykstra, Patrick Dykstra; great-grandchildren, Ethan Danneberg, Chayston Patrick Dykstra and Haileigh Ray Dykstra.
