Funeral services were held at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley at 1:30 P.M., October 3 for Gerrit Van De Stouwe, 79, of Rock Valley, who died October 1 at Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley.

Services were conducted by the Rev. J. Van Zweden and burial was in Valley View Cemetery at Rock Valley.

Mr. Van De Stouwe was born Sept. 16, 1895, in The Netherlands. He came to the U.S. and married Susie Van Den Top February 27, 1924, at Inwood. The couple farmed in the Inwood-Rock Valley area until retiring and moving into Rock Valley.

Survivors include the widow; four sons, Jake of Hull, William of Inwood, Gerrit J. of Fairview, S.D., and Clarence of Norwalk, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Albert (Alice) Bakker of Doon; three brothers and three sisters in The Netherlands; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
