Funeral services were held at the United Presbyterian Church in Boyden at 2 P.M., September 3 for Darwin Van Briesen, 30, former Boyden resident, who drowned August 31 in the Missouri river below Big Bend dam at Ft. Thompson, S.D.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Paul Moon and burial was in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery at George.

Mr. Van Briesen, was born at Sanborn April 10, 1945. He graduated from Boyden High School and was a Vietnam veteran.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Florence Van Briesen, of Boyden, and three brothers, Verlyn of Boyden, Verdel of Mitchell and Curtis of Sioux City.
