VELGERSDYK, VANDEGRIEND

Funeral services were held at the First Christian Reformed Church in Hull at 1:30 P.M., May 27 for John Velgersdyk, 74, of Hull, who died May 24 at the Sheldon hospital.

Services were conducted by the Rev. John Fondse and burial was in Hope Cemetery in Hull.

Mr. Velgersdyk was born at Rotterdam, The Netherlands, August 30, 1900. He came to the U.S. with his parents in 1904.

He married Nellie Vande Griend at Hull December 21, 1926.

Mr. Velgersdyk was a section crew man for the Milwaukee Railroad, retiring as a foreman after 53 years service.

He was an elder in the First Christian Reformed Church at Hull.

Survivors include the widow; four sons, Clarence of Minneapolis, Harok of Denver, Harvey, of Inwood, and Martan of Sioux Falls; two step-brothers, Reynold and Cornie Ver Mulm, both of Valier, Mont.; two stepsisters, Mrs. Casey (Jennie) Dane of Chateau, Mont.; and Mrs. Harold (Mary) Rose of Divide, Mont., and 13 grandchildren.
