Funeral services were held at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley at 1:30 P.M., August 1 for Mrs. John Vande Hoef, 32, of Rock Valley, who died at Sioux Center Community Hospital July 29 after a long illness.

Services were conducted by the Rev. W. Suijker and burial was in Valley View Cemetery at Rock Valley.

Mrs. Vande Hoef, the former Betty DeBruin, was born at Canton, S.D., February 27, 1943. The couple had farmed near Rock Valley since their marriage.

Survivors include the widower; two sons, James and Brian, and two daughters, Tamela and Amy, all at home; her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Albert DeBruin of Hudson, S.D.; her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. John Vlastine of Rock Valley, and Mrs. Marinus Van Waart of Sioux Center; three brothers, John of Craig, James of Tucson, Ariz., and Brad of Hudson and three sisters, Mrs. Gerrit Koenen of Hawarden, Mrs. Gerald Van Roekel and Miss Kathy, both of Hudson.
