MR. JAKE WANDSCHEER CALLED BY DEATH

Mr. Jake Wandscheer passed away at his home on Thursday, May 6, 1943, at the age of 67 years.

He had been very ill for the past several months and suffered much, due to cancer.

Survivors include his wife and only daughter, Edith (Mrs. Marion DeVelder), her husband, Rev. Marion De Velder, and two children of Holland, Mich.

He is also survived by 5 sisters: Mrs. Cornelius Punt, of Sioux Center; Mrs. D. J. Wesselink, of Hull; Mrs. Gerrit Peelen, of Sheldon; Mrs. John Dykstra, of Boyden; and Mrs. John Van Wyhe, of Lester. Also five brothers: Henry, Dan, Gerrit, Ed and Ben Wandscheer, all of Sioux Center, Iowa.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon, May 10, 1943, at the home and at the Central Reformed Church. Rev. R. D. Meengs officiated and the body was laid to rest at the local cemetery. Pall bearers were James, Joe and Harold Wandscheer, Jake Peelen, Ralph Kuypner, and Henry Wesselink.

Mr. Wandscheer was born at Sioux Center and on Dec. 1, 1911, he was united in marriage to Miss Wesselena Kastein of Springfield, S.D. They spent all of their time at Sioux Center and he was the manager of threshers ring for 49 years. He was very much interested in both the church and community life.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. John Postma, of Sioux Center, and a brother, John Wandscheer, of Springfield, S.D.
