Rites Held For Mrs. Bristol, 66

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ellen Bristol, 66, who died Friday at the Mapes Nursing home after
a long illness, were held at 2 o’clock Monday at the Methodist church, Dr. G. S. Bruland officiating. Interment was at Grace Hill cemetery under the direction of the Barnard Funeral home.

Mrs. Ralph Gregg was the soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Don Hummel at the organ. Casket bearers were Glenn Hansen, Earl Slife, Sr., Rex Truesdell, Roy Mapes, Harley Whittington and George Dykstra.

Mrs. Bristol was born July 29, 1897. at Davis, S. D. She married Floyd Bristol in 1919 and they
came to Hawarden shortly after when she operated a beauty shop here. She later became a bookkeeper
in a ready-to-wear shop.

Mr. Bristol died hero July 1, 1960. A few years later she moved to Sioux Falls, later returning for care in a nursing home.

Survivors include a sister. Mrs. Albert Buckmiller of Sioux Falls, and two brothers, Frank Boterman of Davis and Fred Boterman of San Diego.
