Herman Wendt Succumbs At Aberdeen, S. D.

Ireton, la.-Word was received here of the death of Herman C. Wendt; 71, of Aberdeen, S. D., following a heart attack which he suffered October 17. Death oc­curred Thursday. Oct. 20.(October 21 is a Thursday- death record states October 21)

Mr. Wendt had been in failing health for the past 18 months af­ter he was seriously injured when a gasoline explosion of a tractor enveloped him in flames. Mr. Wendt was the husband of the former Sophia Hoorneman of LeMars and she and four children survived him.

Funeral services were held on Monday form the Methodist Church of Aberdeen in the family plot at Aberdeen.

Word was received here of the death, of Herman Wendt, 71, of Aberdeen South Dakota following a heart attack which occurred. Sunday, October 17. Death occurred at noon Thursday, Oct. 20 (Thursday is the 21st and death record states 21st of Oct). The deceased has been in failing health for the past 18 months, after he was severely injured when a gas explosion of a tractor enveloped him in flames and he was seriously burned. Mr. Wendt was the husband of the former' Sophia Hoorneman of LeMars and she beside four children survive him.

The children are Atlas Wendt of Mina, S.D., Robert Wendt; Mrs. Helen Hansen and Mrs. Hazel Shanneman all of Aberdeen. There are 8 grandchildren and two brothers all living in the vicinity of Aberdeen

Funeral services were held Monday (October 25) from the Methodist church of Aberdeen. Interment was. made in the family plot in the Aberdeen cemetery.
