Oct. 5. 1934—Feb. 21, 2000
Arlyce Groen, 65, Sibley, died Monday, Feb. 21, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.
Services were Friday, Feb. 25, at Trinity Reformed Church in Sibley, with Pastor Harold Lenters officiating. Burial was at Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley, under the direction of Andringa Funeral Home in Sibley.
Arlyce Groen, daughter of Steven and Adreanna (Van Otterloo) Van Otterloo, was born Oct. 5, 1934, in Sioux Center. She grew up and attended school in Orange City. She married Robert Groen on Aug. 20, 1954, in Orange City. They lived in Orange City until 1956, when they moved to Sibley. She attended school in Orange City.
She attended the Christian Reformed Church for 34 years. For the last 10 years she has attended Trinity Reformed Church, where she also served as janitor and head of the Women’s Society.
Survivors include her husband Robert of Siblev: three sons, Robert and Janice Groen of Sibley, Ron and Yvonne Groen of Hopewell, VA, Roger and fiancee Katie Speidel m Norlolk. Five daughters, Patricia and ElRoy Jansma of Sibley, Donna and Jarold Krogman of Spencer.; 14 grandchildren: a great-grandchild; three brothers, Norman and Linda Van Otterloo, Albertus and Arloa Van Otterloo, Stanley and Muriel Van Otterloo, all of Orange City; and two sisters, Audrey and Jim Mouw of Starbuck, MN; and Joyce and Jim Roscamp of Rapid City,
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Leon; a sister in infancy; and a granddaughter in infancy.
