Hawarden - Mrs. Herbert C. Scott, 94, Hawarden, died Monday, Aug. 21 at a Hawarden hospital after a lengthy illness.

Services were at 10:30 A.M., Thursday at the Associated Church with the Rev. Heston Milligan officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery with the Dow Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Scott, the former Ida Crowther, was born Aug. 18, 1884, in Waterloo. She moved to Hawarden with her parents in 1892. She was married April 16, 1904, in Hawarden. Mr. Scott died Jan. 19, 1956.

Mrs. Scott was the oldest member of the Congregational Church in Hawarden. She was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star, was active in the Ladies Aid and Sewing Circle of the church and was a member of the Mutual Improvement Club.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Evelyn) Whitehouse, Mrs. Art (Dorothy) Busch and Mrs. Don (Margaret) Leafsteadt, all of Hawarden, and Mrs. Max (Madelyn) Bird of Lusk, Wyo.; two sons, Paul of Hudson, S.D., and Wayne of Hawarden; a brother, Fred of Marshalltown; 16 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
