Funeral services were held at Memorial Funeral Home here at 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, December 2, for Cornelius Klarenbeek, 85, of Sioux Center, who died at the Sioux Center hospital November 28 after a brief illness.

Services were conducted by the Rev. William Suyker, pastor of Rock Valley Netherlands Reformed Church and burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery here.

Mr. Klarenbeek was born March 20, 1890, in The Netherlands. He married Hermina Schotsman August 3, 1912, in The Netherlands.

The couple moved to the Alvord area in 1920, and seven years later (in 1927) moved to a farm near Sioux Center where they farmed until retiring and moving into town in 1941.

Mrs. Klarenbeek died in 1967.

Survivors include four sons, Raymond, address unknown, William of Orange City, Cornelius of Grand View, Wash., and Herman of Sheldon; a daughter, Mrs. Gerrit W. (Jennie) Vande Brake of Sioux Center; a sister in The Netherlands; 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
