Died - At her home this city Monday April 29, Eliza A, wife of James A. Ashley, aged 39 years, 10 mo. and 15 days. Eliza A. White was born June 5, 1851, near the town of Heath Mass. When a child she moved with her parents to Waterloo, IA. Sept 1, 1872 she was married to James A. Ashley. In the spring of 1882 they moved to LeMars, IA and to Hawrden in the fall of the same year. She leaves a husban, and son and daughter to mourn her loss.
(The 1885 Iowa census of town of Calliope lists James A Ashley age 41, Eliza age 33, Jay A. age 11, and Myrtie age 9. )
