Michael Callan died at his home in this city last Saturday from Asthma in his 72nd year.
(The Sioux County cemetery index lists Michael Callan died 20 Jun 1891 at 72 yrs, 5 mo. wife Catherine buried St. Mary's cemetery Hawarden. Catherine's obit of Nov 1917 lists her maiden name as McIntee, she died 9 Nov 1917. Michael was a Civil War veteran. They had eight children- John, Anna, M. C., Edward J., Eugene, Mr. C.E. Sawyer; a dau Mary died in infancy and Joseph died in 1910.)
