ROCK VALLEY--Gerrit Gerritsen Sr.,82,of Rock Valley, died at his home Jan.6

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Jan.8 in the First Reformed Church at Rock Valley. The Rev.Roger Voskuil officiated and burial was in the Valley View Cemetery at Rock Valley under the direction of the Porter Funeral Home at Rock Valley.

Mr. Gerritsen was born Oct.31,1894, at Sioux Center. He married Anna Vander Schaaf march 5, 1929, at Rock Rapids. He had lived in Rock Valley most of his life. He worked with the Sioux County road Maintenance crew. He was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors include the widow, Anna; to sons Gerrit Jr.,of Sioux City, and Anthony of Rock Valley; two daughters, Mrs.Peter (Katherine)Brinkman of Rock Valley and Mrs.Herman (Theodora) Williamsen of Centerville, SD.; a sister Mrs. Peter Leelwen of New Holland, SD.; two half sisters, Mrs. Winnie Boscalion of Inwood and Mrs. Jennie Dykstra in Michigan; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
