Mrs. A. Uittenbogaard,80, of Hospers, mother of Nick Uittenbogaard of Sheldon, passed away at her home last Friday night at ll:30 o'clock, after a three months illness.
Mrs. A. Uittenbogaard, nee Margaret Beuzekom, was born in Meerkerk, Netherlands, July l3, l858,
and died April l4, l939 at the age of 80 years and 9 months.
She married Aart Uittenbogaard in Meerkerk and came to this country in the year l90l and settled in Chicago. From there they moved to Doon and Sanborn, Iowa, and in neighboring vicinities. The past 20 years she had made her home in Hospers.
To this union were born l5 children, of whom six preceded her in death. Her son Adrian died in England in l9l8 while serving in the World War.
Those surviving to mourn her loss are Harry and Dick of Sanborn, John of Lynden, Wash., Gerrit of Boyden, Nick of Sheldon, Luke of Denver, Colo., (Grace) Mrs. Wm. Kreykes of Sanborn, (Lizzie) Mrs. Louis Alons of Hospers and Bert, at home in Hospers. She is also survived by one brother, Bert Beuzekom of Chicago, and one sister in the Netherlands, 47 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Her husband preceded her in death May 5, l926.
She was a faithful member of the Christian Reformed Church at Hospers and will be remembered by those who knew her for her kind, considerate nature. She was a good neighbor and a loving mother and grandmother.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at one o'clock at the home and at l:30 at the Christing Reformed Church at Hospers with Rev. J. H> Geerlings and Rev. G. Docter officiating. Pallbears were five sons, Harry, Dick, Gerrit, Nick and Bert Uittenbogaard, and a sons-in-law, Wm. Kreykes. Burial was made in the Hospers Cemetery West of Hospers.
Two sons, Luke of Denver and John of Washington, were unable to attend the services.
