ROCK VALLEY--Joe Ripperda,77, Rock Valley, a former Lyon County supervisor,died Sunday morning in a Rock Valley hospital following a brief illness.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St.Mary's Catholic Church, Rock Valley. The Rev. Patrick Nooney officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Monday at Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley

Mr. Ripperda was born Jan.8, 1900, in Larchwood. He married Gladys Kramer Dec.28, 1926, in Alvord. She died Oct.8, 1971. Mr. Ripperda farmed in the Rock Valley area, retiring in 1963, and also served three terms as supervisor for Lyon County.

Survivors include four sons, Francis of Austin, Tex., George of Rock Valley, Lawrence of Worthington, Minn., and Daniel of Sioux Falls,SD.;two daughters, Mrs. Don (Madonna)Plueger of Rock Valley and Mrs.Carl (Mary Ann)Selken of Larchwood; 26 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren
