Starkenburg, Minnie, Mrs. Wesley - 1889-1976

Mrs. Wesley Starkenburg, 89, Orange City, died Friday in a nursing home at Orange City.

Services were at 1:30 P.M., Monday in the First Christian Reformed Church. The Rev. J. S. Jorritsma officiated. Burial was in the West Lawn Cemetery under direction of the Van Gelder Funeral Home.

Mrs. Starkenburg, the former Minnie Smol, was born Jan. 17, 1889, at Sioux Center. She was married March 13, 1909, at Volga, S.D.

The couple lived at Volga until 1920, in Orange City a brief period, at Harrisburg and Corsica, S.D., and returned to Orange City in 1951. Mr. Starkenburg died Jan. 10, 1962, at Orange City.

Mrs. Starkenburg was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church.

Survivors include a son, John of Corsica; three daughters, Mrs. Gerrit (Ollie) Bruxvoort of Orange City, Mrs. William (Sadie) Geels and Mrs. Clarence (Ann) De Vries, both of Sheldon; 20 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
