AKRON, Iowa --- Melba Mae Bultman, 80, of Akron died Thursday, March 9, 2000, at a Remsen, Iowa, nursing home after a brief illness.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron with the Rev. Daniel Stegen officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 2 to 3 p.m. and a prayer service at 2:30 p.m. at Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.
Mrs. Bultman was born May 3, 1919, in rural Sioux Center, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Martha Baumgartner Muth.
She married John Bultman on March 9, 1940, at Ireton, Iowa. The farmed around the Chatsworth area for many years before retiring to Akron on Nov. 4, 1976. Her husband died March 9, 1996.
She belonged to Immanuel Lutheran Church of Akron and she enjoyed flowers and playing cards.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Dennis and Muth of Chatsworth, Iowa; three grandchildren, Jennifer, JoAnna and Jeff; three great-grandchildren; a sister and her husband, Fern and Lorentz Opdahl of Hudson, S.D.; and a brother-in-law, Ralph Brown.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and Thomas Muth; and two sisters, Bernadine Meins and Donna Brown.
