HAWARDEN--Andrew Steensma, 55, of Hawarden died Tuesday at Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls after a lengthy illness.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Christian Reformed Church with the Rev.Robert Van Hofwegen officiating. Burial in Grace Hill Cemetery was under direction of Dow Funeral Home.

Mr. Steensma was born March 10, 1922 in Bigelow, Minn. and married Beatrice Bolkema Dec.7,1949, in Bigelow, They farmed in Bigelow area until moving to Harwarden in 1956. He was employeed by the Hawarden Sales Co. for the past 20 years. He was a member of the Christian Reformed Church.

Survivors include the widow; to daughters Miss Marilyn Steensma and Miss Albina Steensma, both of Sioux Falls; Five brothers Peter of Sibley, Ike of Luverne,Minn. George of Slayton, Minn., Ted of Pella and Fred of Lynden, Wash., and two sisters, Mrs. Ted (Gertrude) Wassenaar of Worthington, Minn., and Mrs. Otto (Annie) Postma of Sibley.
