Hospers--Mrs. John Van Wyk, 39, of Hospers, died Thursday at a Sheldon hospital following a brief illness.
Services were at l:30p.m. Monday in the First reformed Church of Hospers. The Rev. Henry J. Vermeer officiated. Burial was in the Hospers Cemetery under the direction of Vander Ploeg Funeral Home of Sioux Center.
Mrs. Van Wyk, the former Shirley Schaap, was born Oct. 24, l937, at Sioux Center. She was married Aug l6, l96l, at Sioux Center.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Reformed Church and the Ladies Guild and Sunshine Circle.
Survivors include the widower; two sons, Douglas J. and Dennis John, and four daughters, Mary Jill, Karen Renae, Kaylene Joy and Leann Kristi, all at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schaap, and her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Schaap, all of Orange City; two sisters, Mrs. Don (Elsie) Nibbelink of Lansdale, Pa., and Mrs. David (Lorna Rae) Moss of Geelong, Australia; and a brother, Norman of Sioux Center.
