Rock Valley, Adrian Oldenkamp, former Rock Valley mayor and city councilman, died Thursday evening in a Rock Valley hospital of a long illness. He was 82.

Mr. Oldenkamp was mayor of Rock Valley from 1960 until 1966. He served on the Rock Valley City Council from 1954 until 1959.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the First Christian Reformed Church at Rock Valley. The Rev. Paul Bakker officiated. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery under direction of the Porter Funeral Home.

Mr. Oldenkamp was born May 20, 1896, at Sheldon. He married Nellie Cannigieter February 19, 1920, at Rock Valley.

Mr. Oldenkamp farmed until 1949 when he retired to Rock Valley. Mrs. Oldenkamp died March 29, 1975 at Rock Valley.

Survivors include three sons, John of Canton, South Dakota, George of Alvord and Harold of Rock Valley; a sister, Mrs. George (Dena) Van Beek of Rock Valley; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
