Hawarden-Mrs. Robert J. Wright, 80, Hawarden, died Dec. 11 at a Hawarden hospital after a lengthy illness.
Services were at 1:30 P.M., Dec. 14 in the United Methodist Church. The Rev. Marion Bloodworth officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery under direction of the Dow Funeral Home, Hawarden.
Mrs. Wright, the former Helen S. Johnson, was born Oct. 16, 1896, near Ireton. She was married March 25, 1918, in Ireton. She lived in Hawarden most of her life.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Eastern Star, the VFW and American Legion Auxiliary, the Garden Club, the Art and Literature Club and the Rebekah Lodge.
Mrs. Wright worked for the Mapes Nursing Home for 20 years. She retired in 1972. Her husband died March 15, 1950 in Hawarden.
Survivors include two sons, Robert of Ames and Glenn of Bedford Heights, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Tom (Marvel) Rose of Baltimore, Md.; six grandchildren; a great grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Porter (Mable) Smith of Hudson, S.D.; and four brothers, Edwin of Ames, Marvin of Canton, S.D., Anthony of Fairview, S.D., and Willard of Duluth, Minn.
