ORANGE CITY, Iowa -- Annetta B. Boone, 87, of Orange City passed away Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City surrounded by her five children.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. today at Newkirk Reformed Church in rural Hospers, Iowa, with the Rev. Dennis Hietbrink officiating. Burial will be prior to the service today in Newkirk Cemetery. There will be a family prayer service at 12:45 p.m. today at Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.

Annetta Bernice was born April 15, 1917, in rural Orange City, the daughter of Albert and Jeanette (Grooters) Slothouber. She was raised in Middleburg, Iowa, where she attended country school.

On June 10, 1941, she married Everett H. Boone at Middleburg. They farmed at Newkirk on the farm where he was born. In 1981, they retired to Orange City. Everett passed away Aug. 27, 1998, in Sioux City after 57 years of marriage. In 1999, she moved to Pioneer Court and later to Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City. In May 2001, she transferred to Heritage House.

She was a member of Newkirk Reformed Church, where she participated in the Golden Hour Circle and later the Mission Fellowship. She liked gardening, needlework and quilting. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Harlan and Shelly Boone of George, Iowa; four daughters, Janice and her husband, Ed Harskamp, of Sibley, Iowa, Karen and her husband, Ron Zylstra, of Inwood, Iowa, Linda and her husband, Jim Maxson, of Spencer, Iowa, and Pamela Bolender of Moville, Iowa; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a sister, Alberta Langstraat of Orange City; and a brother-in-law, Ralph Mouw of Orange City.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter; and a sister, Genevieve Mouw.
