Glenn Blum, 35, of George, died Thursday as a result of an apparent heart attack during a fire at the Lyon County maintenance building.
Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. John Lutheran Church, rural Boyden. The Rev. Daniel Hart officiated. The Vogelaar and Bolin Funeral Home of George had charge of arrangements. Jack Sauter Post 404, American Legion conducted flag presentation ceremony at the graveside.
Mr. Blum was born June 28, 1942, at Hull. He married Carol Akkerman Oct. 19, l973 at Rock Rapids. Mr. Blum had been employed by Lyon County. He served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to l965.
Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Michelle Lynn, at home, his mother, Mrs. Walter Blum of Rock Rapids; a brother, Gene of Chicago, Ill.; and a sister Mrs. Marilyn Dammann of Toledo.
