Jake M Elgersma, 65, of Sanborn died Dec 28 at a hospital in Sheldon.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Dec 30 in the Christian Reformed Church at Sanborn. The Rev. John Sittema officiated. Burial was in Roseland Cemetery with the Sanborn Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Elgersma was born Aug. 26, 1911 at Maurice. The family moved to Sanborn when he was a boy. He married Nellie Zonnefeld Sept. 17, 1933 The couple farmed Mrs. Elgersma died July 3, 1975. He was a member of the Christian Reformed Church and its Senior Men's Society.

Survivors include two sons; Pierson of Sheldon and Jack of Sanborn; three daughters, Mrs Jim (Janice) Van Egan of Rock Valley and Mrs. Irvin (Marlene) Woudstra of Hospers and Mrs. Rudy (Frances) Jacobsen of Cherokee; 14 Grandchildren; one brother, Henry and one sister, Mrs. Jessie Vos, both of Sanborn.
