Sylvia Geraldine Aarsen, 66 of Orange City died Sun. Dec. 28 at Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City.
Funeral service was Friday at 10:30 a.m. at First Reformed Church in Orange City with the Rev. Steven Vander Molen officiating. Interment was at West Lawn Cemetery. Interment was at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City.
Mrs. Aarsen was born March 4, 1937, at Sioux Center, the daughter of Harry A. and Wilemina (Gesink) Colenbrander. She was raised at Sioux Center, where she graduated from high school. On March 2, 1962, she married Teunis Hendrik Aarsen at Sioux Center. They made their home in Orange City, where she was a homemaker. For the past three weeks, she resided at the Heritage House.
She was a member of the First Reformed Church.
Survivors include her husband, “Henk”; a daughter and her husband, Harriet and Gregory Quick , of Quincy, Ill; a son, Dennis Aarsen of Orange City; and two sisters, Adeline Lammers of SIoux Center and Eleanor and her husband Gordon Brink of Orange City.
She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Dick Lammers.
