Deaths

Mrs. Maggie Olivier

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Maggie Olivier, 73, who died Wednesday morning, June 17, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital following a lingering illness, June 20 at 1:30 at the Little Chapel and at 1:45 at the First Reformed church in Hull, Rev. Nicholas Rozeboom officiating.

Burial was made in the Hope Cemetery at Hull.

She was a daughter of Dirk Kroon and Geeritje Schootbruger. She was born in the Netherlands on February 24, 1886. On April 26, 1907, at Sioux City, Iowa, she married John Olivier and to this union 5 children were born.

The past four years she lived near Rock Valley. Most of her life she lived near Hull. She was a member of the First Reformed church of Hull.

Survivors are one son, Arie, of Sioux Center, three daughters, Mrs. Nellie Nyhuis of Sumner, Wash., Gertrude (Mrs. Donald Van't Hul) of Hartford, S. D., and Dorothy (Mrs. Nick. J. Bomgaars) of Rock Valley. She also leaves two brothers, John Kroon of Sioux Center and Bert Kroon of Orange City, four sisters, Mrs. Gerrit John Scholten, Mrs. Maas Korthals, Mrs. Gerrit Kraayenhof of Alvord, and also six grandchildren.

Those who preceded her in death were: her husband, John, her parents, one daughter, Gertrude, two brothers, Henry and Dick Kroon, and one grandchild, John H. Nyhuis.
