Was 11 Years Old.A very large concourse of friends, neighbors and relatives of Donald Bruce, eleven year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Arend N. Olivier of Hull, attended his funeral on Tuesday afternoon.
The services were conducted by the Rev. H. Van't Kerkhoff and J. Hanenburg at 1:00 o'clock at the home and at 1:30 in the First Reformed Church at Hull and interment was in Hope cemetery.
Donald Bruce Olivier was born on June 3, 1933, and passed away on Thursday morning, August 31st, at the age of 11 years, 2 months and 27 days.
Besides his parents he is survived by a sister, Carol Joyce, and a brother, Keith Duane. His grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Art Olivier of Sioux Center and Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Schuett of Hull also survive.
At the funeral services special music was furnished by a duet, Mrs. Bert Koele and Mrs. Maynard Newhouse, who sang "Ivory Palaces"; and by a quartet, Mesdames Bert Koele and Maynard Newhouse and Messrs. R. Gosselink and Bert Koele, who say, "In The Garden".

Donald met his untimely death last Thursday morning when he was struck by a car on Highway 18, just east of Rock Valley. He had been visiting friends in Rock Valley for several days and with two playmates was walking along the highway. The three were just walking across the road when a car, travelling at an excessive rate of speed, came over the hill and struck Donald. His body was hurled to the fence line alongside the road. He sustained fractures of the arms and leg and neck, and it is believed that death was instantaneous.
The driver of the car has since been convicted of manslaughter and committed to the State Penitentiary.
The many friends of the Olivier family extend their sincere sympathy to the bereaved in this hour of sadness for them.
