Local Farmers to be Honored

A Century Farm awards program will be held at the Iowa State Fair on August 23 honoring pioneer Iowa farm families who have owned the same Iowa land for 100 years or more. The program began in the bicentennial year of 1976. Since then over 6,000 farm families have been so honored.

Sioux County farmers included in the 1979 Century Farm recipients are: Vernon J. Beernink, Sioux Center; Lambert John Mouw, Orange City; Wm. C. and Hendrike J. Reyelts, Hull; and Delbert and Hubert Van Skike, Ireton.
