April 3, 1951Miss Ida Mae Ewin Weds Eugene Hodapp At Alton Wednesday
Miss Ida Mae Ewin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ewin of Seney, became the bride of Eugene Hodapp, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Hodapp of Merrill, before an altar decorated with Easter lilies in St. Mary's Catholic church in Alton, Wednesday, March 28, 1951.
The 9 a.m. service was performed by Rev. Zeno Rising. The nuptial music was sung by St. Mary's choir.
The bride was lovely in a white taffeta gown with a lace edged white marquisette veil which had been worn by the bride's sister-in-law, Mrs. Vernon Ewin. The veil was attached to a seeded pearl crown. She carried a bouquet of pink roses tied with white streamers on a white testament.
Matron of honor was Mrs. Eugene Braun and bridesmaid was Marlene Bowen. They wore gowns of pale green marquisette and pale pink brocaded satin respectively. They both wore matching should length veils and carried white rose bouquets.
Best man was Vernon Ewin, brother of the bride, and groomsman was Gerald Hodapp, brother of the bridegroom. The men's boutonnieres were white carnations.
A wedding reception for 30 guests was held in the home of the bride's parents in Seney after the ceremony.
The bride attended the LeMars schools and has been employed by the Aahlfs-Baker manufacturing company in LeMars. The bridegroom attended the Merrill schools and is employed by the Illinois Central railroad.
