Henry Goslinga And Dorothy Van Schepen

Miss Dorothy Van Schepen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Van Schepen Jr., of Ireton, and Henry Goslinga, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Goslinga of Orange City, were married Friday evening, June 10, in the Christian Reformed Church in Ireton. The Reverend Paul Ouwinga performed the ceremony.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white satin, styled with a fitted bodice, long sleeves pointed at the wrists and a full skirt ending in a long train of muslin-de-soie. Her fingertip veil fell from a tiara of seed pearls. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses.

Miss Eileen Van Schepen, maid of honor, wore a colonial style aqua formal and carried a fan shaped bouquet of yellow carnations. George Goslinga was bestman. Ushers were George Van Schepen and Case Van Velzen.

Miss Rena DeJong, organist, accompanied John Van Schepen as he sang, “Because” and “God Gave Me You,” preceding the ceremony, and “Hear Our Prayer,” at the close of the ceremony.

Following the ceremony a reception was held in the church parlors for 160 guests.

For her going away costume the bride chose a lavender dress with white accessories and a white rose corsage. After a wedding trip to Minnesota, the couple will make their home in Orange City.
