Peter Mich born in Paris, Wisconsin in 1861 married Mary Hoffmann LeMars in 1887. They lived in LeMars when they were first married., later moved to Remsen. They moved to Granville in 1896. Peter’s occupation was in the shoe repair and retail business (selling exclusive shoes). He retired in 1921. His son Ray and daughter Maxine ran the shoe store for the next 5 years until Maxine was married.

3. Anna Mary Mich born 22 Sep 1891 LeMars IA died 9 Feb 1905 aged 13 buried in St. Joseph’s cemetery Granville IA. Alton Democrat Feb 11, 1905 Anna died of pneumonia after being sick one week. Third child the Mich’s have lost. The 1895 census of Remsen IA had listed Anna Maria born abt 1893 living with Peter Mich born 1862 Wisconsin, and Maria Anna Mich born 1866 Jackson Co. IA.
4. Gertrude Mich born estimated birth year 1893, died before census of 1895. No further information found.
5. Mayme (Mary Fdelia) Mich born 20 Oct 1895 Remsen IA, died 3 Sep 1993 buried St. Anthony’s Primghar IA married Robert Nelle 1894-1964. No children listed on F A G.

7. Rose Mary Mich born in 1900 in Granville, Died in 1976. She married Joseph Bernard Jueneman born 1892 (1940 census of Adrian MN. ) He died 13 Sep 1965 Adrian MN. Their children in 1940. Mary R. age 13, Lavone R. age12, Raymond L. age 10 and James P. age 5.
OBITUARY of Peter Mich 1861-1932
Source: Alton Democrat (1-22-1932) Born: February 12, 1861 Died: January 16, 1932 GRANVILLE PIONEER DIED SATURDAY Peter Mich, Granville pioneer, died suddenly at his home Saturday evening. Mr. Mich had come in after shoveling a path through the snow and sat down to take off his overshoes. As he raises his head, he sank back in his chair and passed on in a few minutes, a blood clot on the brain having caused his sudden passing. Mr. Mich would have been 71 years February 12 of this year. He was born in Wisconsin, but came to northwestern Iowa when a young man, locating at Le Mars where he engaged in his trade of shoemaking. He was married in Le Mars to Miss Mary Hoffman and the couple came to Alton, where Mr. Mich for several years conducted a shoe store. Later he returned to Le Mars where he became a partner to A. Thoma in a store there. Some years ago he sold his interest there and went to Granville to engage in the shoe business. His son Ray has carried on the business in recent years. He is survived by Mrs. Mich and four children: Mrs. Robert Nelle, Primghar; Ray of Granville; Mrs. Joe Juinemas, Adrian, Minnesota, and Miss Marian, an adopted daughter. Three children preceded in childhood. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at St. Joseph’s Church in charge of Reverend Schoepner

Mrs. Mary Mich of Granville died May 21 at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Le Mars, after an illness of six days. Funeral services will be held this Thursday morning at 9:30 in St. Joseph’s Church, Granville.
Mrs. Anna Mary Hoffmann was born August 20, 1862 at St. Donatus and came to Le Mars at the age of 8 years. After her marriage September 1, 1886 to Peter Mich, she lived in Granville, with the exception of a few years at Remsen and Alton.
Mrs. Mich is survived by one son and two daughters: Mrs. R. H. Nellie, Primghar; Ray J. Mich, Kingsley; Mrs. Joe S. Jueneman, Adrian, Minnesota and one adopted daughter, Mrs. Ray Reining of Blair, Nebraska; 16 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Anton Thoma of Le Mars.
