The Claussen home place was bought by Hans Claussen in February 1897, and they moved in there on March 1, 1897. To this family 7 children were born. They lived there until August 1921, when they moved to Alvord, Iowa.

In 1921 Alfred Claussen was married to Jennie Hendriks and they had 7 children. In 1941, Alfred bought the home place. They lived there until 1955 when they moved to Rock Valley, Iowa.

On November 6, 1954, Kenneth Claussen was married to Joyce Stensland. They had 5 children.

Alfred bought the 160 acres joining the farm to the south in 1965. This place was also farmed by his grandfather, Hans Jensen. In 1969, Ken bought this place so that is the 3rd generation of Claussen’s to farm this land. All of the “Claussens” are members of Our Saviors Lutheran Church at Rock Valley, Iowa.
