Thank you for the information you sent for the Goodales of Galland's Grove, Shelby, Iowa. Joseph's daughter Margaret Goodale who married William Crandall was actually margaret Vinson as you will note on the 1870 Census of Galland's Grove. I believe this was a second marriage for Joseph and his wife Mary and that Margaret came from Mary's first marriage. Margaret's brother Frank Vinson is also listed on this 1870 Census right below her name. He was born in about 1862. Do you have any information on Frank? He is listed in 1880 as Frank Goodale living with Joseph and Mary Goodale but I believe his legal name would be Vinson. I have tried researching under both names but cannot find him after 1880.
