Employment: Was employed as a chemist for Iowa Testing Labs, Eagle Grove, IA, for 12 years. In 1996, he moved to Des Moines, IA and began working for Woodson Tenent Labs (later known as Euro-Fins). During the 29 years he worked there, Dave became the heart of the reporting team.

Hobbies/Interests: Loved being outdoors, canoeing in the Upper Iowa River, fishing (particularly for trout) in northeast Iowa, pheasant hunting, and camping in Manteno with his sons and nephews; enjoyed the Iowa Hawkeyes and followed football and basketball. He also cheered on his alma mater, the UNI Panthers. He enjoyed growing hot peppers and eating spicy foods; David enjoyed music, especially the band Pink Floyd, and all classic rock and roll.
