Employment: Worked at his Grandpa Wigness’ Machine Shop through high school and continued until he took ownership of Wigness Farm Equipment, from 1973-79. He took his mechanical expertise to Roecker Ford and Hallett Materials until he retired in 2005. In his retirement, he took a part-time job at Hy-Vee Wine and Spirits.

Hobbies/Interests: He volunteered with the Harlan (IA) Fire Department for 30 years, serving as Chief from 1974-1982; member, Harlan Jaycees, Shelby County Speedway, Corley Community Club and Greenridge Steam & Antique Show. Jerald’s hobbies included being “Mr. Fix It”, gardening, lapidary, camping, grilling, and, mostly, enjoying time spent with his family and with friends.
