Employment: Her first job after graduation was as a secretary to the principal at the school. After the Modale School burned in 1957, her job was to sort through all the burned records to salvage as much as possible. After her marriage, she raised her 6 children as Leonard farmed, and walked beans every summer for 20 years. After the family moved into Harlan in 1979, she began working full time as a waitress at Ember’s in Avoca for 40 years.

Hobbies/Interests: Card games, collecting cardinal figurines, Creighton basketball, Chief’s football, and country music, particularly Mel McDaniel. Loved shopping for her house and yard; she loved Harlequin books, Hallmark movies, motorcycle rides with her sons, and spending quality time with her kids and grandkids; she traveled with her kids over the years including to Maine, California, Tennessee, New Mexico, Oregon, and Ireland, as well as a cruise to the Bahamas.
