Employment: She had begun working for Nelson Motors while in high school and continued until the business closed. She was then employed by the Baptist Memorial Home (later becoming Elm Crest Retirement Center), Harlan, IA; she was the office manager at Elm Crest for more than 40 years, enjoying her job and the residents.

Hobbies/Interests: Enjoyed music. She was a member of the Harlan Community Chorus, and the Goldenaires Music group; member, "Red Hat Ladies" club; member, Gardening Angels Club; volunteered chairing the Soup Supper and Alzheimers walk for numerous years, and worked with Christmas lighting around the square. Mostly, she loved watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren perform, sing, or play sports. Patti enjoyed spending time in the Colorado Rockies (Estes Park), shopping and enjoying the scenery.
