Education: Attended Jackson #3 country school, Jacksonville, IA; While attending high school, Lois was a flag twirler with the marching band, and contributed to working on the class yearbook. During her senior year, she was assigned as a teaching assistant to a grade school class, held the position of FFA Secretary, and was crowned Shelby County Soil Conservation Queen. She graduated from Harlan (IA) Community High School, Class of 1964

Religious affiliation: Baptized and confirmed at Jacksonville (IA) Lutheran Church where she was a member of the choir

Marriage: James R. Eriksen; Nov. 28, 1981; location not provided. They later divorced but remained friends

Employment: After graduating from high school in 1964, Lois went to California and harvested strawberries for a day so she could afford a ticket to Disneyland. Aftewards, Lois honed her secretarial skills at Perkin-Elmer Aerospace, where her exceptional organizational skills impressed her California co-workers. In 1977, Lois accepted a position with Harris Corporation in Palm Bay, FL, and moved across the country. She continued to work there for 35 years, retiring as a Senior Executive Administrative Assistant supporting top executives.

Hobbies/Interests: Kept meticulous records of family events including birthdates, marriages, children, dates of death, and had catalogs of photographs.
