Education: Attended St. Michael’s School for elementary school and Harlan community schools for junior and senior high; graduated from Harlan Community High School with the Class of 1974; he went on to graduate from Dana College, Blair, NE in 1978 with a degree in business education. Todd played on Harlan’s first state championship football team and served as co-captain on Dana College’s team. Later, he received his Master’s in School Administration from Creighton University, Omaha, NE. He was in the education field for 33 years, with 7 of them as a teacher/coach in Glenwood, IA and 26 of them as school principal/athletic director in Primghar, LeMars Gehlen, and Atlantic (all Iowa) Middle Schools.

Religious affiliation: Member of Knights of Columbus since 1979; was a 4th Degree member since 2006; served as a Grand Knight for the Atlantic Council for 3 years; served as a trustee, a 4th Degree Faithful Scribe, and as an Insurance Field Agent; was currently serving as the Faith Director and Family Holy Hour Chair for the state of Iowa. Most recently, he had accepted the position of Director of Life for the state and was a proud board member of the newly formed LC Pregnancy Clinic.
