Religious affiliation: Member, First United Methodist Church, Lincoln, NE and sang in the choir; previously, he was a member of and in the choir at Paradise Valley Methodist Church, Paradise Valley, AZ and St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Lincoln, NE

Military service: Enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1945 during WWII; additionally, he joined the U. S. Air Force in 1951, during the Korean War

Marriage: Marianne J. Savereide; Feb. 15, 1948; location not provided

Employment: Self-employed, developing various subdivisions and building many homes in Harlan, IA. He also sold real estate in Harlan and owned a mortgage company in Phoenix, AZ. He owned Pauley Furniture Store, Pauley Ford Center, and many rental units.

Hobbies/Interests: Had an incredible voice and loved to sing, singing in barbershop quartets and for more than 300 funerals; participated in many variety shows and musicals; loved to golf, playing with Marianne for years and together they won the Harlan Golf & Country Club Husband and Wife Tournament in 1981; also participated in the men's golf league. Loved to read, especially cowboy books; enjoyed playing bridge; was a founding member of the Lion's Club and was Man of the Year in 1960; was a bank director for multiple banks and was president of the Harlan Golf & Country Club.
