Education: Attended Harlan (IA) public schools and graduated from Harlan High School with the Class of 1947, where she participated in chorus, pep club, band, baton twirling, and school plays

Religious affiliation: Baptized at United Methodist Church, Harlan, IA; member, First United Methodist Church, Harlan, IA, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir; with their move to Arizona in 1983, she was a member and in the choir at Paradise Valley Methodist Church, Paradise Valley, AZ; after they relocated to Lincoln, NE in 1988, she was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church there.

Employment: Worked at the Shelby County State Bank in Harlan after high school; when she and Richard moved to Omaha early in their marriage, she worked at the Stockyards National Bank. After they moved to Scottsdale, AZ, she worked as the receptionist for Mortgage Network, Inc. When they moved to Lincoln, NE, she was the bookkeeper for Contact Travel. She also obtained her real estate license.

Hobbies/Interests: Had a beautiful voice and loved to sing: Marianne started singing solos in grade school. She also participated in many variety shows and musicals, including the Musical Man, Hello Dolly, South Pacific, and she had the lead in Oklahoma. Marianne enjoyed watching sports, especially Nebraska football, volleyball and women's basketball, the Kansas City Royals, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Kansas Jayhawks. She and Richard played golf together and they won the Harlan Golf & Country Club Husband and Wife Tournament in 1981; also participated in the women's golf league. Marianne loved animals, especially her dogs and cats. She played bridge and participated in Literary Club; was involved in the Eastern Star and Rebekah's; was Rainbow Worthy Advisor; was the co-chair for the Harlan Bi-Centennial celebration in 1979; loved to entertain
