Military service: Enlisted in the U. S. Army Reserves and served his country until in 1971; honorably discharged

Marriage: Betty Bissen; July 25, 1970; Defiance, IA

Employment: Began his nursing career in 1969 at Myrtue Medical Center, Harlan, IA and then transferred to Hospital Ambulance Service and later Medivac Ambulance/ Rescue in the late 1970's. He worked for several years selling insurance for Combined and Physicians Mutual. The past 40 years of his life, he cared for the elderly in nursing homes in Omaha, NE, Elk Horn, IA, and Denison, IA.

Hobbies/Interests: He loved caring for his patients; was a guardian on Honor Flights, beginning in 2008; loved playing golf and playing cards; enjoyed romantic songs and movies
