Education: Attended Puder Country School near Oakland, IA until 1945, then attended Shelby (IA) High School and graduated with the Class of 1952. After high school, she attended Commercial Extension School of Business in Omaha, NE from June 1952 to June 1953.

Religious affiliation: Baptized and confirmed at the Presbyterian Church, Shelby, IA where she was a member for many years; she served as a Sunday school teacher, bible school director, on various church boards and was a part of the Women’s group. Much later, she became an active member in the United Church of Avoca (IA) congregation and served as a church deacon.

Employment: Farmer’s wife for more than 40 years; later, was employed by McDowell Fitness Center, Harlan, IA, registering clients and helping where needed.

Hobbies/Interests: Loved flowers and gardening, watching wildlife from their windows, enjoyed the outside cats, and collected nativity scenes to display at Christmas
