Hobbies/Interests: Was scoutmaster for his nephew’s boy scout troop; in the 1990s, Kevin was an active member of the Kirkman (IA) Volunteer Fire Department as a Fireman and EMT; enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, archery, camping, and bicycling; after his cancer diagnosis in 2021, Kevin reinvented himself as much as his health could tolerate by making homemade vanilla, wine, smoking briskets, ribs, and pork loins; he dehydrated fruit and made baklava. His passion for learning found him in front of his TV watching YouTube videos for hours learning about cooking and winemaking.
