Employment: Worked several jobs over time: while living in Vail, IA, he volunteered for the fire department and was a bulldozer operator for Bill Blair; for the majority of his employment, he worked in packing plants for IBP, Dubuque Packing and Farmland Foods. He retired in 2005 after 35 years of cutting meat.
Hobbies/Interests: Hunting and fishing; was always tinkering on something that needed welding and enjoyed scrapping iron and hauling loads of scrap metal to Quandt Auto salvage for extra cash for his family; NASCAR was a favorite past time and Dale Earnhardt his favorite driver; played Bingo and enjoyed the casinos. With Gloria, they loved to travel to Texas and to go bowling on local team leagues; loved to go to auctions which led to collecting model cars; puzzles; was an avid gardener and enjoyed bird watching; loved country music, watching movies and TV.
